Exhibition of paintings by Isabelle Omer & sculptures by Pascal Billard

Isabelle Omer Billard evokes here the marks of movement, the wear and tear of time, the effects
graphics imposed by presence and left by absence. This is a series that explores the
gestural painting, the superposition of layers of paint stretched, erased then removed, then
again covered.
Pascal Billard is very inspired by comics, SF or surrealism. He extracts from his blocks of sandstone
or limestone, hybrid creatures, with rounded shapes, white, close to human or
of the animal. They are sometimes composite, intertwined with wood, iron, hijacked objects such as
only dismantled parts of sewing machines, typewriters, motorcycle headlights, gramophones...
often occupied with their task, on subjects which preoccupy him and which he makes fun of,
Pascal paints absurd portraits under cover of undisguised humour.
