The Memorial is erected on the seafront, along the coastal path. It refers to various sequences of the Second World War which marked the Basque Country: presence of a community of Basque refugees from Spain, occupation, prohibited zone, escapes through the port of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the border. Spanish, captivity of colonial troops, bombardment of Biarritz, construction of the fortifications of the Atlantic Wall, acts of Resistance, repression, deportations and persecutions.
