This book is a very nice project born of a joint initiative between the teaching body, the team of the education department and that of the cultural department of the city of Bidart.
Its objective: that the children of Bidart talk about their village to the children who come there on vacation. And as we found the subject downright neat, we joined the project!

It is customary at Bidart public school for CE2 classes to work on a writing and reading project from the start of the school year.
This year the students have chosen to mix words and heritage to create an alphabet of Bidart which is aimed at children who come to discover their village.
It was after a semester of work that the team of teachers and the children were able to carry out this project.
First there was the work on the words, the subjects, the rediscovery of the heritage, the writing of the texts, then came the time for artistic research.
One project, different actors
The children discovered different facets of the creation of an alphabet book by meeting actors and partners involved in this great project.
They met the library staff Toki-Toki to rediscover what an Abécédaire is in concrete terms, they were able to take guided tours of the village with our passionate volunteer guides Martine and Roberto.
They have also worked in class and outside the walls with the talented and committed artists that are Sam Dougados et Sandrine Agosti Navarri.
These various encounters fueled the imagination and creativity of the students who then worked in workshops with the teachers mobilized around this same project, Mesdames Azoulay, Gaillard, Garmendia, Lagourgue and Balbina.
