Savior Square Atchoarena

From the wash house car park, take the tarmac road which climbs up to the village square, you will find the wash house and its source. In front of the town hall, follow straight on towards the war memorial, pass in front of the Pili Taffernaberry art gallery. Go down the stairs and turn left towards the municipal pediment. Go down the stairs, open the metal gate and take the pedestrian path which passes under the RD810. At the end of the tunnel, go down along the car park to the Jean Jaccachourry school. Cross the school by the path, then go up through the wood to the Guehetaldia junction. Turn right and follow the sidewalk towards the Ur Onea Chapel.

The Ur Onea chapel

Here is the source "Ur Onea" (good water) once famous for its virtues. Cross Ur Onea Street and follow the footpath that goes around the large grass field, pass over the footbridge and turn right.

Uhabia

Follow the Uhabia stream to its mouth for 800m. From the beach, head south towards the first aid station, and take the stairs that go up through the grass behind the first aid station.

Saint-Joseph chapel

After a few steps, on the left, it is possible to see the remains of a whale fat oven preserved in the stone, witnesses of a time when whaling was an important activity for the fishermen of Bidart. Continue up the stairs to reach the Chemin de Parlementia, turn right and follow the lane to the Saint Joseph Chapel. On your right do not miss the superb art-deco house Emak Bakia in which the artist Man Ray made a film of the same name in 1926.

The Parlementia district

From the Saint Joseph chapel, descend towards the Ocean in front of the Parlementia surf spot. At the bottom of the steps, follow the path on the left, pass in front of the Parlementia beach restaurant and turn left before the first aid station. Take the path across the cliff to the Koskenia lighthouse, the last piece of heritage before arriving at the charming village of Guéthary. Make a U-turn, pass by the lifeguard station on Parliamentia beach and take the path in the other direction towards Uhabia beach.

The center beach

At Uhabia beach, cross the stream by the footbridge. Turn left at the exit of the footbridge and join the Embruns area by the path which runs alongside the beach restaurant. Follow the path that goes around the terrace of the Embruns rehabilitation center. Go up along the rue de l'Uhabia until the crossroads then continue towards the beach of the Center.

The Sainte Madeleine chapel

Take the stairs on the right which go up to the Chapelle Sainte Madeleine, a few steps before the chapel, stop at the orientation table to observe the Pyrenees. From the esplanade of the Chapelle Sainte Madeleine, below is the Departmental Memorial for the Second World War and for Peace. Take the rue de la Madeleine and join the place de Bidart. Go down the path between the Town Hall and the Elissaldia restaurant to the Lavoir car park.
