Their names are Livio & Julie, they have đź’™ big like that, energy like 4 and each in their own way came to find us one day to offer their help in order to provide better holidays in Bidart for those who cross hard times...

words and deeds

Livio among his many hats, welcomes you with his team at Camping de la Plage in Bidart. He wanted to make his campsite a friendly and warm establishment in the image of his personality: open to people, the world, anchored in the moment and simple things. It is also for him to respond to the duty to preserve a natural piece of land facing the ocean, a commitment that is transmitted from generation to generation within the Sasco family.

Here, nothing is left to chance, everything is chosen to respect the place, its environment, the people who stay there and those who work there.

Livio is in love with history, but looking to the future, he is one of those who think about the meaning and the value of things and actions.

In the spring, when the conflict broke out between Ukraine and Russia, Livio contacted us to tell us that with his team, he would make available a few places, completely free, for Ukrainian families taking refuge in Europe and accompanied by the families generously welcomed. And, starting from there, any family, whatever its country of origin, takes refuge in Europe, in the urgency of fleeing one of the innumerable wars which unfortunately bruise our world.

This initiative reminds us that when the civil war was raging south of Bidassoa, on the other side of the border, Bidart was already a land of welcome, especially for children who temporarily left their families to find shelter here.

Its campsite located a stone's throw from the ocean, opposite Uhabia beach in Bidart, will be available for such a welcome from the opening on June 21, 2022.

I think that's the least of the things
we can do. Make the ocean, Bidart, its inhabitants, its paths and its beaches, a place of rejuvenation and appeasement
for those who suffer so much today.

A more accessible world

Julie is a woman who crunches life and invests herself daily in her professional life and in her family life.

We first know her because she is a visual health professional who opened Bidart-Optik nearly 15 years ago in Bidart but also because she is a mother of two children, including Timothée, a young teenager who suffers from a disease known as Duchene muscular dystrophy.

Julie and her family redouble their energy to allow Timothée to live extraordinary adventures in an unusual daily life. With his friends they created an association "In Timothy's Eyes" well known in Bidart.
And it is in this context that Julie came to find us.

Aware of the difficulty of accessibility in everyday life but also on vacation, Julie & Timothée have become our super official partners to share their experiences with future holidaymakers who need to organize their holidays with "accessibility" in mind.

Because yes, labels and laws are not enough to make our world an accessible environment. So since last year, they share their tips, their ideas so that we can improve and facilitate the organization of holidays. We are starting the work with them, but we have already felt their overflowing desire to help other families and to make Bidart an accessible destination for all: an "easy" destination where you can also let go in the organization of holidays by trusting those who tested before us…

Anticipating when we think about accessibility is the key word, we must always anticipate all exits so that it does not turn into a nightmare. No longer anticipating would be a dream for families, not worrying and knowing that it is doable.
