The fanfare drums Algera of Bidart, smoothly led by its president Nicolas Poydessus, will welcome the “New Aquitaine Regional Competition for Fanfare Batteries” this Saturday May 18, 2024 at the wall on the left Kirolak de Bidart.
Alegera, the beating heart of Bidart
Throughout the year, Algera brings the village of Bidart to life to the sound of the instruments of its 35 passionate musicians united in symphony around the same desire. They meet regularly to rehearse and do not count their training hours in order to offer us friendly moments. Whether in season during concerts on the square or on the Grand Fronton on the occasion of the Basque force galas or even during the autumn festivals in mid-September or very soon for the music festival. So yes, we are lucky to be able to count on them to set the tone of the note, the breath necessary to play in harmony during their performances and all in an unrivaled good mood. Focus on musical meetings
A regional competition but not only…
No more chauvinism, let's get back to this unique event which will bring together a majority of musical groups from the region and even beyond with the exclusive participation of the Paris fanfare drum orchestra, the Graulhet fanfare drum orchestra and Grammond's Epi. As pointed out Pierre Bartheu, president of the Basque Union of French Sports and Cultural Federation (FSCF), in addition to the friendly aspect, this competition has real academic value. It allows younger apprentices to confront other groups and more seasoned musicians to validate their skills.
More than 300 musicians are expected to compete from 9 a.m. and throughout the day on Saturday, May 18. The wall on the left will host the competition superior and the National Grand Prix from 11:00 a.m. to 16:40 p.m. On the side of the big top, the groups will compete for the cup of'Excellency and the National Promotion. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 18:30 p.m. and will be followed by a beautiful free party open to all (always with music of course).
After the competition, the celebration
Come find Burrunba Elektrotxaranga from 19:00 p.m. The Spanish banda will be present with its singers and traditional Basque musical instruments (brass section, Trikitixa, percussion, guitar, etc.). They will know how to set the mood to warm you up with their covers of Basque and Spanish songs.
